Building Companies and Making Movies: What Should Entreprenuers Learn From Filmmakers and Vice Versa?

Thursday Feb 28th, 4:00 networking, 4:30-5:30 speaker
Please note that it will be held in the HUMPHREY Private Dining Room NOT the Carlson private dining room

After 15 years spent forging a professional career as a successful marketing
executive and entrepreneur while secretly moonlighting as a screenwriter and
filmmaker, John Montague had always been trained to think there were very
few similarities between his day job and his hobby -- until one day he
realized that his success in business was largely due to his filmmaking
education, and vice versa. This presentation by a successful entrepreneur
and screenwriter reveals the many surprising parallels in building start-up
companies and making movies.

Montague's latest venture, Muve, Inc., was recently awarded the 2007
Minnesota Cup as the state's top new company. He has successfully built
three technology ventures. In addition, he is the recipient of the Billy
Wilder Award for excellence in screenwriting. He has sold two screenplays
that are in development as feature films in Hollywood.
